good evening. i'm kerry mcsweeney. >> i'm diane dwyer. new at 11:00, police are investigating two burglaries and an armed robbery that all happened in the last 24 hours at a typically quiet outdoor mall. the crimes happened at the palos ver days mall on pleasant hill road. monte francis is there arew3ftñ surveilance video of one of those crimes. >> good evening. the armed robbery happened at a
yogurt shop at 6:00 tonight. one of the burglaries happened at this restaurant. you can see the door behind me is boarded up how the burglar got inside. this surveilance video shows it took a matter of seconds for him to break a glass door and bust into the vaupt. cameras were rolling as the thief yanked the cash register out of place taking it and the $200 it had inside. he was gone within 15 seconds. >> somebody come in. yeah, and then too late. >> the restaurant owner says (t&háhp &hc& but he's hoping that someone recognizes the man from the footage and calls police. >> i feel angry too, but it's bad luck for last night. another restaurant in the
mall near the market was alsoburg la ryed overnight. the market hadity door boarded up but police say video in that case shows a different suspect. third and most recent crime happened at about 6:00 tonight at the tuttifruiti yogurt shop when a young man demanded cash from the owner at gunpoint. the robber got away. police say the crimes aren't only unusual because of where they took place but also because the same mall was hit three times in just 24 hours. and the restaurant owner here tells me he thinks the mall should provide more lighting outer here in the parking lot and perhaps install outdoor cameras for surveilance. we checked with walnut creek police. so far no arrests in any of these three crimes. monte francis, nbc bay area news. >> thanks very much. and this just into our newsroom right now. all lanes are blocked on westbound 5 0 at harbor way in
richmond because of a fatal crash. a man ran across the freeway just before 10:00 when a silver corolla hit pim had officers are diverting traffic at harborway north. latest into the investigation of a deadly shooting at the airport. you'll see the pylons glowing blue in memory of the tsa agent killed. all three terminals are back in ã opened fire yesterday morning killing an agent, wounding three other people. federal prosecutors charged 23-year-old paul anthony ciancia with murder of a federal officer and violence at an international airport. they say he wrote and signed a note saying he had made the conscious decision to kill multiple tsa employees. >> his intent was very, very clear in his note. >> the murder is believed to be a premeditated act of first degree. >> the charges filed could lead to the death penalty or life without parole.
as the investigation into his motives continues, the grief of the family of the victim just beginning. gerardo hernandez had worked at l.e0)v a. x. since 2010. >> we are all heart broken and will miss him dearly. he was a joy full person. he took pride in his duty for the merp public and the mission. >> the next step for police is reviewing video of ciancia's alleged movements at the airport. he is reportedly unresponse inat a los angeles hospital. >> in the east bay, a man accused of exposing himself at several parks is behind bars tonight. officers arrested 20-year-old shaquille thomas at his home yesterday. police say over the past year, they received several reports of indecent exposure, veterans and mariners park. officers identified the suspect as thomas based on witness descriptions. he's facing 11 counts of indecent exposure. we are learn more about the deadly crash that closed 1 in
marin county earlier around 4:30 this afternoon two miles south of stinson beach. a man driving a stolen8x red ha accord crashed 200 feet down a cliff. that man died and the chp shut down the highway while crews worked to get the body and the car. the car was reported stolen out of alay ho. >> officers are searching for a man who has the mental capacity of a 5 year. conseco was last seen walking on vine street near downtown yesterday. he never made it back home. the family says he sufed a traumatic it can brain injury. he was wearing a white t-shirt, black jacket and flip-flops. he walks with a limp and has a cane. alert bus driver found a man missing for a week. 65-year-old ed mound bass come disappeared during the closing of vae springs manor last week. he was recognized by a bus driver in san jose.

a vulnerable child you have the poe essential to having a victim vulnerable to being exploited. >> the state task forces identified 1,277 victims of human trafficking between july of 2010 and june of 2012 in california. her own daughter seen her in a recent area with nbc bay area was abducted from the sacramento area and sold into the sex trade. >> five years ago my daughter went to a local grocery store to grab a soda and never came home. her perpetrator took her from the safeway parking lot and within five hours had taken pictures of her and posted her for sale for sex on craigslist and within 12 years was tracking her. >> the fbi found the then hen 17-year-old in fremont. since they zito made it her mission to educate people about the issue. funds will go to caring for victims and preventive programs. >> we go into schools, colleges,

and mateo keep the officials are warning residents to be careful now that yellownj mosquitoes have been found in menlo park. vector control officials and volunteers were out today handing out information about ways to revent the spread of the mot quito. >> this is a sample of the type of source that this would breed in. it likes to breed in very small containers of water such as birdbaths, saucers underneath plants. buckets, things like that. >> vector control specialists have launched an informational campaign in menlo park going door to door looking for anything that might provide breeding grounds for mosquitoes
that spread yellow fever they're capable of surviving as eggs over the winter and hatching in the spring when gets warmer. it's important to get ahead of the problem now. >> he's got a little tupperware you used for snails and such. we made shoo your that was no longer full of water and a breeding ground. we made sure we were good and no water standing around and that f1 o >> the insect which can also carry dengue fever was discovered in august at the holy cross cemetery in menlo park. this one usually strikes in the afternoon. vector control has set specialized traps to catch mosquitoes and their larva. this year five cases of the fever have been reported in the county. it's important to note none can be traced back to the mosquito. >> the dungeness crabbe season opened today but you're not going to ethem in the stores
